The European Commission published its Green Paper on “Online Distribution of Audiovisual Works in the EU – opportunities and challenges towards a digital single market” on 13th July 2011.

As expected the Green Paper asks a large number of questions on the future of the sector. Significantly, SAA’s proposal of linking audiovisual authors to the success of their works is included as a possible action. The consultation closes on 18^th November. SAA Executive Director, Cécile Despringre, has an editorial piece on the Green Paper published in Cineuropa today.
