Paul Powell is a British television writer, script editor and producer. His screen credits include the situation comedy Miranda, the panel game Have I Got News For You and the infamous satire Spitting Image. Career highlights include a British Comedy Award for Al Murray’s Happy Hour, an RTS award for Miranda and the title of 39thgreatest comedy sketch of all time for a contribution to Smack The Pony. He is a director of Black Dog Television, the independent production company behind Alexander Armstrong’s Big Ask and a non-executive director of the Authors’ Licensing & Collecting Society, one of SAA’s British members. He is currently developing a number of sitcom projects and panel show formats for international television. He co-authored and co-produced Insert Name Here, a comedy panel game broadcast by BBC Two in January and February 2016. Given the resounding success of the programme, Paul Powell will be working on a second season.
