SABAM has, for more than a century, collected and distributed royalties on behalf of authors, composers, and publishers. Representing 50,000 members across music, film and television, theatre and dance, visual arts, and literature in Belgium, it works to advocate for authors' rights and to ensure that creative work is fairly valued and creators are properly remunerated. Through its cultural fund, SABAM awards grants to help creators develop their artistic careers. It is also a partner of major cultural events in Belgium, funds federations that represent creators' interests, and offers training and coaching in entrepreneurship for the cultural sector.
