Culture Key to Europe’s Future – Follow-up of Forum de Chaillot
A number of Europe’s screenwriters and directors including Costa-Gavras, Agnès Jaoui and Enrique Urbizu called for the next European institutions to support culture and its creators.
At the "Forum de Chaillot" organised in Paris on 4th and 5th April 2014 and attended by Culture Ministers from across Europe, creators from the film, music, books and performing arts sectors underlined the need for Europe to recognise the importance of culture and its diversity in the European construction and to renew its support for it as the cultural sectors are faced with new online services evading Europe's traditions and carefully constructed policies when making works available.
