Reinhold Bilgeri is an Austrian screenwriter and director. He graduated in 1976 from the University of Innsbruck (Geography, Philosophy and Psychology) and worked for 5 years as a High School teacher. In 1980 he started his professional career as a rock singer, songwriter, novelist, screenwriter, producer and director. Up until the 90's he landed 25 top hits in Austria, South America and several European countries, got several gold and platinum awards and produced and wrote TV shows as promotion tools for his records. He wrote radio plays, short stories and published in 2005 his best-selling novel Der Atem des Himmels (The Breath of Heaven), of which he made a successful movie in 2010. Since then, he has directed and produced films, such as Alles Fleisch ist Gras (2014) and Erik & Erika (2018). In the recent years, he focused his work on writing and published a book Die Liebe im leisen Land (The love in silent land) in 2021.
