Sebastian Voinea

Sebastian Voinea is a Romanian film and TV director. He graduated as Valedictorian of the University of Cinematography and Theatrical Art “I. L. Caragiale” Bucharest in 2005, in the Film and TV Director section. Between the years 2006 and 2008, he directed the TV series Daria, iubirea mea (Daria, My Love) and Inima de tigan (Gypsy Heart) for the CME group media. In 2009, he directed a pilot episode for the first HBO TV series broadcasted and produced in Romania, In Treatment. From 2009 to 2011 he directed the TV series Fetele Marinarului (The Sailor’s Daughter) and Wild Naricisa. Additionally, Voinea has directed four short films and a documentary for which he has been awarded several awards including the main prize for the Best Short Film for Love Close Up at the International Short Film Festival Sesily and the main prize for Best Short Film for Positive Life at the A-FILM festival. From 2011 he started working as a creative producer in the Dogan Media International media trust and producing shows on Kanal D such as Who wants to be a millionaire and Wheel of fortune. Starting in 2015, he has directed 10 episodes and produced the TV series Family Stories. His latest project is the upcoming short film Boarders.
