EU Commission consultation on state aid for films and other audiovisual works

SAA has submitted its response to the EC's consultation calling for broader legal certainty for financial support schemes.
The submission calls for the broadening of the scope of the Cinema Communication which defines the guidelines for the European Commission assessment of the national financial support schemes for film productions. Any revision of these guidelines should include pre and post production activities with appropriate criteria in order to guarantee legal security to these support schemes, which are essential to the very existence of the European cinema.
