“Loss Of Balance” has received critical acclaim and a series of awards, including a special mention for Best Debut Director at the 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. It is produced by Dynamo, a multi-award-winning, creative production company. Founded in 2004, it is one of the three largest production houses in Poland.

Maja, an aspiring actress who, despite dedicating her life to the craft, lacks confidence in her abilities. Her perspective shifts when she is cast as Lady Macbeth by a charismatic new director. This opportunity rekindles her passion for acting and boosts her self-esteem. However, as rehearsals progress, Maja uncovers unsettling aspects of the directors behavior, leading her to confront the darker realities of their professional relationship… In the line of “Whiplash” or “Black Swan”, “Loss of Balance” explores ambition, manipulation, and the complexities of mentor-mentee dynamics in the performing arts.

The event is organised by the European Film Agency Directors Association (EFAD) and the Polish Film Institute. It is held in partnership with European associations in the culture and audiovisual sectors, including the SAA.
